Within-provider variation in prices for Commonly Utilized Services in Office Setting: A Cross-sectional Study
ABSTRACT
We use the latest price transparency data to assess the provider level variation in rates negotiated for commonly utilized services. We find that a provider can have a wide range of prices for the same service, depending on the insurer and network. This indicates that choice of insurer and network can play an important role in curbing high healthcare spending for employers and other stakeholders.
