A Strategic Partnership to Advance AI Applications in Genomics and Bioinformatics for Health Innovation
ABSTRACT
Background:
Late 2025, JMIR Bioinformatics and Biotechnology (JBB) is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with the MidSouth Computational Biology and Bioinformatics Society (MCBIOS), under which JBB will serve as the official journal of MCBIOS. This collaboration represents a shared commitment to advancing computational biology, bioinformatics, and biotechnology through open science, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world impact. At a time when biological discovery and health innovation are increasingly driven by large-scale data, artificial intelligence (AI), and computational methodologies, this partnership reflects a shared vision: to bridge bioinformatics, data science, AI, and innovation to transform health. Together, JBB and MCBIOS aim to provide a scholarly home for research that not only advances methods and technologies, but also demonstrates meaningful applications across biomedical, clinical, and population health contexts.
