Telehealth interventions in Mental Health: a Systematic Review
ABSTRACT
Background:
The increase in internet access, the use of mobile devices and computers has caused a trend towards the implementation of technology to facilitate care in different areas, including mental health.
Objective:
This study is a systematic review following PRISMA recommendations with the aim of learning about telehealth interventions for mental health in the population older than 15 years of age

Methods:
We used multiple sources for the search as PubMed, Science Direct, LILACS, and IEEE Xplore search was scoped between January 1, 2020, and May 13, 2022. Articles were annotated in Ryyan
Results:
We identified 1251 articles in the observation period, 105 articles met the inclusion criteria. Articles were classified by the platform they use for the intervention(web/mobile), the telehealth functionalities, the WHO classifications of digital interventions, the target population, and the pathologies operated. Tele-conference and self-reported questionnaires were the main intervention strategies; the most common platform is the web; with systems developed primarily for patients and providers; Depression and anxiety disorders were the main diagnosis involved; and diverse target populations.
Conclusions:
These findings will inform the design of comprehensive telehealth mental health interventions based on current technological trends and the needs of the target population
