Development of Mobile-Based Personal Health Record Maternal and Child Using Glide App: Development and Usability Study

ABSTRACT

Background:

The world calls for increased access and maternal and child health services. This is in line with the global targets contained in the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely to eliminate all forms of malnutrition in children under five, adolescent girls, pregnant and lactating mothers, and the elderly. One way is to increase access to personal health data so that patients know the importance of monitoring their health. Therefore, it is necessary to develop applications for personal health records of mothers and children to support the achievement of the SDGs targets by 2030.

Objective:

This paper aims to design and build a mobile-based application for personal health records for maternal and children.

Methods:

This design phase uses the waterfall method during the product evaluation. Requirement analysis based on the data collected with interviews, observations, and literature studies, then product evaluation using the System Usability Testing (SUS) method.

Results:

This design produces a Unified Modeling Language (UML) design consisting of use cases and activity diagrams, a user interface design, and a maternal and child personal health record application named SIKIA (Maternal and Child Health Application). This design also creates the final product evaluation result, which states that the SIKIA application can easily accept by the user (acceptable).

Conclusions:

The design of the mobile-based mother and child personal health record application has been approved and is by user needs.
