ABSTRACT
The Survey of Women project was developed to support state-specific research and evaluation projects, with an overall goal of understanding contraceptive health practices of women aged 18-44. The project collects data from respondents in nine different states (Arizona, Alabama, Delaware, Iowa, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, South Carolina, and Wisconsin) over multiple rounds – a cross-sectional baseline survey, 2-3 follow-up surveys, and a cross-sectional endline survey. Employing a multi-mode design, each round collects data via a programmed web survey or a hardcopy questionnaire. This paper focuses on the baseline survey methods, including sample design, data collection procedures, and data processing, concluding with a brief discussion on the follow-up survey and endline survey methodologies.
