The Design and Assessment of a Internet Hospital in Middle China
ABSTRACT
Background:
Chinese government supporting "Internet plus" to play an active role in fulfilling trans-regional flow of high-quality medical resources and improving patients' medical experience, building an online-to-offline integrated medical service model covering pre-diagnosis, in-diagnosis and post-diagnosis.
Objective:
The present study aimed to describe the functions and technical design of our internet hospital(located in Middle China) and evaluate the effects.
Methods:
With the development of internet technologies, internet hospitals are popular in China to deliver online medical services in order to provide better services to patients. According to government regulations, internet hospitals in China must be supported by offline physical hospitals. Our internet hospital providing services such as online outpatient, online prescription, online payment, medicine delivery, AI guidance, chronic disease management, report query, appointments, door-to-door care and other services, it also providing services such as COVID-19 testing appointments, online healthy code checking, inpatient admitting card management during covid-19 period.
Results:
Our internet hospital help to provide online-to-offline medical services, gave great convenience to patients, and improved the quality of medical services,but online outpatients and online prescription is not as much as we predicted.
Conclusions:
From our research, we know online outpatients and online prescription is not as much as we predicted, this may be medical services have it characteristics such as professionalism, actually patients like to use functions such as appointments, online payments and report query, due to the technical complexity and high security requirements of the medical services, internet hospital is more reasonable as a supplement for the offline physical hospital, the online-offline combination may be the trend of internet hospital development.
