ABSTRACT

Long COVID / post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection (PASC) develops in at least 10% of acute SARS-CoV-2 infections and is estimated to affect more than 65 million people worldwide [1]. The condition currently lacks accepted diagnostic biomarkers, effective therapeutic options, and, for many patients, any meaningful clinical support. This Viewpoint describes the methodology and utility of a single patient systematically tracking multi-system biomarkers including vascular, immune, and neurological biomarkers, over approximately three years to map his own condition, and reflects on what longitudinal, patient-generated data can and cannot reveal about an individual disease course.
