ABSTRACT
This study examines how daily screen‑time duration influences sleep‑dependent cognitive processes—specifically attention regulation and working‑memory performance—in adolescents with varying academic achievement levels. Using self‑reported data from 50+ respondents, the analysis identifies consistent patterns: higher screen‑time is associated with reduced sleep duration, and reduced sleep duration is associated with lower GPA ranges. Respondents overwhelmingly report that screen‑time affects them (“Yes” in the Has screen time impacte column), even among high‑achieving students. These findings support existing cognitive‑science literature suggesting that screen exposure disrupts sleep architecture, which in turn impairs attention and working‑memory functioning.
