ABSTRACT

The rapid expansion of AI use among youth highlights the need to understand its role in substance-related information seeking. Findings indicate high prevalence of use for substance-related purposes, particularly for seeking information on risks and consequences. AI’s known limitations in accuracy, combined with high trust in outputs underscore the significant potential public health impact of AI-generated information.
