MS Patient Perspectives on their Journey: From DIagnosis to Engagement
ABSTRACT
Background:
This article is a summary of four multiple sclerosis patient journeys, drawn from the comments of patient panelists at a 2025 conference SPM sponsored, in conjunction with Northeastern University.
Objective:
Share the perceptions of patients with a serious condition that sometimes has a protracted diagnosis, has treatment options that should be calibrated to patient needs and values, and has impacts on patients’ lives that also must be navigated.

Results:
Four stories that summarize the challenges that any patient can leverage to better manage their condition and maximize the effectivenss of their working relationships with their clinicians
Conclusions:
It’s critical for patients to be engaged as equals with their care team and shape a team that is working effectively for them. Clinical Trial: not applicable
