Development of a Mobile Application for Occupational Stress Screening in Female Workers: Exploratory Sequential Design Study Protocol
ABSTRACT
Background:
Occupational safety hazards include physical, chemical, ergonomic, biological, and psychological hazards. Technological innovation in screening occupational stress, especially among female workers, is needed to improve the health of productive healthy female workers.
Objective:
This research was conducted to obtain a prediction model of work stress through a questionnaire instrument that includes stressors, symptoms, and transactional, as well as measurement of work stress through a mobile application that can be done anywhere.
Methods:
The research was conducted in 3 stages, namely qualitative, quantitative (cross-sectional), and mobile application development. Data were collected from companies located in Jakarta, Indonesia. The sample was taken by purposive sampling. For quantitative research (n=390), logistic regression was analyzed.
Results:
A work stress screening instrument for female workers that includes stressors, symptoms and transactional in the form of a digital platform so that female workers can do the examination anywhere without having to interfere with working hours or home duties.
Conclusions:
This study analyzes the prediction of work stress to help female workers screen for work stress. Workers who are detected to be experiencing work stress will be educated using an algorithm programmed in the application.
