ABSTRACT

The study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of VH in KSA by assessing its prevalence and trends, identifying contributing factors, and exploring potential solutions to enhance immunization rates. This review aligns with global concerns as the WHO has identified VH as a top global health threat. This systematic review will follow PRISMA guidelines and PICOS criteria for comprehensive assessment. The study will conduct a thorough search across various databases, encompassing a wide range of vaccines, and pay special attention to vaccination campaigns and refusal. Inclusion criteria involve descriptive, observational and analytical studies focusing on factors influencing vaccine acceptance or hesitancy. The study will employ the Crowe Critical Appraisal Tool for quality assessment and perform a narrative synthesis to summarize findings thematically. By conducting a thorough analysis of factors contributing to VH, such as religious beliefs, concerns about vaccine safety, and perceptions of disease risk, this study will inform tailored vaccination strategies. These strategies can address the unique challenges faced by KSA in promoting vaccine acceptance. The findings are expected to have direct policy implications and guide interventions to strengthen vaccination programs and improve public health outcomes.
