Soft Skills Assessment and Gamification: a Serious Game Design Perspective
ABSTRACT
Background:
The use of gamification is becoming more and more prevalent in the job market due to its potential to save time, improve data quality, and increase engagement. Soft skills, which are essential in the field of human resource management, can greatly affect the performance of individuals, teams, and organizations.
Objective:
The authors of this paper present a serious game that identifies the most sought-after skills in the job market and offers feedback, as well as a set of guidelines for the creation of serious games.
Methods:
In this section is presented the serious game Among the Office Criticality (AOC). The AOC structure consists of a set of Sequence Analysis techniques, known as Process Mining.
Results:
The results of the pilot study show that the data can be generalized to the population and the feedback analysis shows that the subjects find the game interesting, useful and fun.
Conclusions:
This study illustrates a Serious Game shaped according to the needs of the labour market, and developed to put the user at the centre, using evaluation techniques consistent with the theory, with the aim of constituting an interdisciplinary approach suitable for adequately assessing the user and create value for them.
