ABSTRACT

Background:

Well-being is multidimensional, complex, and dynamic. It is an amalgam of physical and mental health, essential for disease prevention and promoting healthy life.

Objective:

This research study is designed to explore the features that impact the well-being of the individuals between 18-24 years in an Indian setting. Th further aims to design, develop, and evaluate the usefulness and effectiveness of the Internet-based platform/standalone intervention to enhance the well-being among individuals aged 18-24 years in an Indian setting.

Methods:

This study involves a mixed-method approach to identify factors influencing the well-being of the individuals in the age bracket of 18-24 years in an Indian setting. The college-going individuals of this age group (18-24 years) from the state of Uttarakhand (urban settings of Dehradun) and Uttar Pradesh(Urban settings of Meerut) will be enrolled. They will be randomly allocated to the control and intervention groups. The subjects under the intervention group will have access to the Internet-based well-being platform.

Results:

This study will bring forward the factors that influence the well-being of the individuals among 18-24 years. It will also facilitate to design, and development of an Internet-based platform/standalone intervention to improve the well-being of individuals in the age group of 18-24 years in an Indian setting.

Conclusions:

This study will examine the factors that influence well-being among individuals 18-24 years. It will also facilitate the design and development of the internet-based platform/standalone intervention which will enhance the well-being of individuals of the age group of 18-24 years in an Indian setting. Furthermore, this study's results will help create a well-being index among individuals to plan tailored interventions.
