ABSTRACT
Background:
With the appearance of COVID-19 pandemic, it is more essential than ever to incorporate protective measures to ensure patient’s safety in Primary Care Centres. This protocol describes the use of a mobile chat platform between adolescents and Primary Health care Physicians as a clinical consultation tool.
Objective:
The purpose of this project is to demonstrate that the use of mobile phones and messaging apps increases the number of health consultations as part of the Health and School program in the Anoia region.
Methods:
Quasi-experimental study comparing the number of consultations as part of the Health in Schools program in the Anoia region, where a new platform for communication between health care professionals and adolescents will be used, with the number of face-to-face consultations as part of the same program in another region. Data will be collected during academic year 2020-2021 from Secondary Schools.
Statistical analysis will be performed on the data entered by users in the registration form and that which is collected by means of the questionnaire, which will be submitted once the case is closed. The questionnaire consists of multiple-choice questions, which allows numerical values to be assigned to the various answer options in order to carry out a statistical analysis.
Results:
The study is projected to start at the beginning of November 2020 and its will finish in June 2021 when data analysis is expected to start.
Conclusions:
The results could be of help in the development and planning of school health programs. Clinical Trial: Trial registration: NCT04562350 (Registration data September 24, 2020) https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04562350
