ABSTRACT

Background:

The COVID-19 pandemic poses unprecedented challenges to whether and how participatory medicine can be put into practice.

Objective:

The purpose of this opinion piece is to explore that question.

Methods:

Opinion piece based on research

Results:

I argue for "yes," "no" and "it depends."

Conclusions:

Some bedrock principles of participatory medicine remain always relevant, no matter the circumstances. Clinical Trial: n/a
