ABSTRACT

To align with contemporary trends and bring more focus to persistent and novel challenges in the field, JMIR Medical Informatics updated the journal's focus and scope. Each submitted work will be evaluated against a stronger criterion for translational impact. Additionally, submissions studying artificial intelligence (AI) methods and applications have more explicitly stated standards. In this editorial, we explain further what changed, why, and what it means for prospective authors, reviewers, and readers.
