Technology Adoption Paradigm in Older Adults: A Systematic Qualitative Grounded Theory Review
ABSTRACT
Background:
With the widespread use of technology in everyday life, older adults' acceptance of technology has become critical to their ability to operate in today's society.
Objective:
This review study aimed to provide a deep understanding of technology adoption among older adults and identify the technology adoption paradigm in this population.
Methods:
This research used electronic databases such as PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar.
Results:
This study presents comprehensive information on the factors influencing technology acceptance, which can help improve the adoption process for older adults. Identifying barriers and effective facilitators can lead to enhanced cooperation among technology designers and providers, ultimately increasing technology adoption rates. Additionally, understanding the potential consequences of technology adoption can influence policymakers to implement supportive measures and policies.
Conclusions:
By identifying the effective factors in technology adoption, the rate of technology adoption among older adults can be predicted to increase in the coming years.
