ABSTRACT

With the advent of artificial intelligence with its new identity and recent developments in natural language processing techniques we will be able to track the disease progression and follow up the patients with more accuracy and effectiveness. The results of this approach is more noticeable in diseases with high rate of complications and treatment failure like anal fistula. Thus, we prepared the following technical note in which the specifications of an artificial intelligence conversational agent or a chatbot is summarized. It seems that narrowing the target population will enhance the efficacy and makes it easier to evaluate the chatbot. We conjecture that three datasets are needed to develop this tool: 1. Institutional information, 2. Follow-up questions, and 3. Patients’ questions and concerns.
