Factors associated with medical students’ choice of psychiatry as future specialty: a cross-sectional study [Letter]
ABSTRACT
We read with great interest the article by Kerebih et al1 regarding factors associated with medical students’ choice of psychiatry as a specialty. In this piece, we provide our viewpoints on the study’s methodology and conclusions. In conclusion, we believe the study successfully identified some key modifiable factors affecting medical students’ decision on psychiatry as a specialty in Ethiopia. These findings are of relevance to the rest of sub Saharan Africa, and to an extent worldwide, due to shared challenges.
