Big Data use in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder research: a brief revision
ABSTRACT
Background:
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the most prevalent neurobehavioral disorder in childhood. ADHD is a heterogeneous disorder characterized by symptoms of hyperactivity/impulsiveness and inattention.
Objective:
We aim to understand how Big Data updated medical practice and clinical ADHD decision-making.
Methods:
We reviewed databases to identify how extensive amounts of data reanalyzed in different prisma might be relevant to a better interpretation of the diagnosis, therapy, and ADHD propaedeutics.
Results:
Big Data analysis has been applied in imaging, movement pattern studies, data obtained through social networks, epidemiological studies promotion, treatment analysis, and ADHD etiology knowledge improvement.
Conclusions:
The analysis is still incipient but shows perspective to improve and manage better the ADHD features in the future.
